SIRS-255 MBS – AIRPORT PERIMETER SURVEILLANCE

The SIRS-255 Microwave Barrier is a perimeter protection system intended for intruder detection and classification – up to 200 metres. It observes people, vehicles and other objects in terms of distance, velocity and direction of movement. T/R in the same sensor unit, in-sensor processing and passive reflectors create a cost efficient and flexible system with high performance. The SIRS-255 Microwave Barrier is the perfect complement to fences and CCTV cameras in most surveillance systems.

Advanced microwave technology minimises nuisance and false alarm rate.

Advanced in-sensor processing minimises the amount of nuisance and false alarms. The intelligent SIRS-255 Microwave Barrier is able to accurately classify objects entering the coverage area. Based on pre-defined threshold values the sensor is able to raise alarms on certain criteria and ignore alarms caused by objects with characteristics not defined as threshold values.

Efficient and accurate perimeter surveillance

 A combined transceiver/receiver in the same unit decreases the number of electronically active units and installation/maintenance costs. Due to use of passive reflectors, high resolution (10 m) can be achieved with one SIRS-255 unit. The number of reflectors used (1-5 reflectors/sensor unit) can be adjusted after the system is installed giving a high degree of flexibility.
