ELECTROMECHANICAL HIGH LIFT SYSTEM

POWER BY WIRE

The Electromechanical High Lift System belongs to the new More Electric Aircraft era, breaking new ground.

The Electromechanical High Lift System is a back-up drive of the Boeing 787 high-lift actuation system and for primary drive of variable camber operation, utilising an electric motor unit (EMU) and an electric-motor control unit (EMCU) to do the tasks normally performed by heavy hydraulic systems.
This reduces aircraft weight while keeping necessary performance. Another world-first from Saab.
